Galliford Try has been appointed by University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the new Outwoods Primary Care Centre in Burton-upon-Trent.
The project team includes Selcon, who is working as the client-side project manager, and Gilling Dod as the architect.
The Outwoods scheme, which is being procured through the ProCure22 framework, forms part of a wider £40m Outwoods Health Village development.
The new Primary Care Centre is intended to increase GP and community healthcare capacity for the growing Outwoods and north Burton populations.
The development will provide purpose-built accommodation for healthcare services, with the wider Outwoods Health Village also planned to include a community hub, care home, nursery and extra-care apartments.

Acute Front Door redesign project
Galliford Try will also deliver an acute front door redesign at Royal Derby Hospital.
The project will reconfigure the hospital's existing emergency access point to increase capacity and improve patient flow, creating a single front door for ambulatory Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre patients.
The works will also provide additional capacity for urgent and emergency care patients and enhanced mental health facilities.
The appointment is Galliford Try's fifth consecutive project with University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.
The contractor has previously delivered healthcare projects for the Trust, including the Florence Nightingale Community Diagnostic Centre.
Galliford Try said the schemes would provide modern, integrated healthcare facilities and support the delivery of a wider mix of services.
The Outwoods project is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in late 2027 or early 2028.
Other recent Galliford Ty projects
Galliford Try also began construction this year on the £21m Birmingham Centre for Anatomy, Surgical and Clinical Skills at the University of Birmingham, a new facility featuring simulated hospital wards, operating theatres and community care settings.
In January, the contractor also completed the Elizabeth Quarter NHS hub in Scunthorpe, bringing mental health, neurodiversity and children’s services together in a new town-centre facility.
