Tilbury Douglas has started work on the new Ribblesdale Oncology Ward at Royal Preston Hospital in Lancashire.
The new 24-bed ward will provide a more-aesthetically-pleasing and comfortable environment for patients and their visitors.
The work is being partially funded by the Rosemere Cancer Foundation and the contract follows Tilbury Douglas’s recent success in delivering Ward 5 to support Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The new project is expected to be completed by September.
Phil Shaw, divisional director at Tilbury Douglas, said: “The team at the Royal Preston Hospital did an exemplary job delivering Ward 5 at short notice and the award of the Ribblesdale Oncology Ward project demonstrates the trust’s confidence in our expertise and capabilities in supporting the NHS.
“We are looking forward to starting on site and delivering this vital facility for patients and the local community.”
