Tilbury Douglas and its supply chain partners have completed refurbishment works at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow, enhancing a number of patient and visitor areas within the specialist cancer facility.
Tilbury Douglas worked alongside supply chain partners Trisquare, LECS Upholstery and MMM Joinery to complete the improvements.
The scheme was delivered over five days following a period of planning and design development.
Delivered in partnership with Beatson Cancer Charity, the project focused on upgrading non-clinical spaces used by patients, families and support staff.
The works included the refurbishment of a patient and visitor lounge, installation of new furniture and room dividers, a new TV unit and screen, redecoration works and a new bench seating area outdoors to create a connected garden space.
The project team also refurbished The Den, a dedicated support space within the centre, introducing new partitioning and interior upgrades to improve functionality and privacy for patients and families accessing support services.
The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre is one of the UK's largest cancer treatment facilities, treating around 10,000 new patients each year.
The refurbishment forms part of a wider collaboration between Tilbury Douglas and Beatson Cancer Charity aimed at improving the healthcare environment for patients and visitors.
The relationship has developed over the past year through fundraising initiatives and staff engagement activities, including awareness seminars.
“This project has been a genuine team effort. I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to our supply chain partners Trisquare, LECS Upholstery and MMM Joinery for their commitment, quality of work and willingness to support such a meaningful initiative,” said Stuart Burgess, Senior Project Manager at Tilbury Douglas.
