PH Medisavers has recalled a batch of its Caretex Urinals amid fears they may leak during use. The company issued an urgent Field Safety Notice on 14 June, but claims there may still be models in use. As a result, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has issued a Medical Device Alert aimed at reaching those hospitals, health centres and care homes still using the urinals. The warning relates to a potential anomaly which means the seams could be weak and prone to failure. The problem affects lot number 1011294 (NHS Supply Chain number FWV024).
