Scheduled for completion in the summer, the project involves a comprehensive ground floor refurbishment to create day case treatment rooms, significantly enhancing the hospital’s capacity.

This project marks the fifth collaboration between Tilbury Douglas and Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, which recently became part of NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group.

Previous projects include the award-winning neonatal unit, the colposcopy refurbishment, an MRI extension, and the construction of the fetal medicine unit.

The refurbishment is expected to not only improve patient experience, but also contribute to the local community

The refurbishment is expected to not only improve patient experience, but also contribute to the local community, showcasing Tilbury Douglas’ dedication to combining construction excellence with social impact.

With an ambitious target of achieving a £2.4m social value return on investment, the project will focus on key initiatives to address the cost-of-living crisis, prioritise local supply chain spend, and further develop its partnership with the Cradle charity.

Martin Horne, Regional Director for the North West at Tilbury Douglas, said: “Our team is committed to working collaboratively with the trust and our project partners to deliver a facility that meets the needs of staff and patients while creating a lasting positive impact on the community.”
