Mammography system provides very latest diagnostic imaging technology

Fujifilm has installed its Amulet Innovality mammography system in a new, purpose-built treatment centre in Milton Keynes.

Serving residents of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire, Linford Wood Medical Centre provides a modern and welcoming environment where patients have access to a range of outpatient services including the latest diagnostic imaging and minor operations, as well as advanced radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment.

The centre was opened in November 2013 by Cancer Partners UK, which launched its first pioneering radiotherapy treatment centre in 2009 and now operates eight cancer treatment centres throughout the UK, with more planned for the future.

In preparation for the new opening, Cancer Partners UK began researching the latest technologically-advanced products to equip Linford Wood Medical Centre.

They approached Fujifilm with an interest in purchasing a high-quality digital mammography system and found the Amulet Innovality ticked all the boxes in terms of quality and innovation.

Commenting on the installation, Rachel Hillyer, general manager at Linford Wood Medical Centre, said: “Fujifilm’s Amulet Innovality has the ability to utilise advanced applications, including the ability to study breast tomosynthesis which was a key factor for us in selecting the right mammography system.

“The Amulet Innovality is also designed to enhance patient comfort and experience during examination, which is also highly important to us – our patients are our priority.”

This is the first Amulet Innovality mammography system to be installed in a private facility in the UK.
