Medical equipment manufacturer has showcased its Community Diagnostics Vehicle in Scotland, bringing hospital-grade diagnostics directly into local communities

Fujifilm Healthcare UK has demonstrated its Community Diagnostics Vehicle (CDV) at the Scottish Parliament.

The presentation highlighted the CDV’s potential to deliver X‑ray, blood analysis, and other diagnostic services outside hospital settings.

"It’s clear our NHS needs to work smarter, and we are currently under-utilising the technology available to us…we need to let technology do the heavy lifting,” said Brian Whittle, Member of the Scottish Parliament.

The vehicle integrates hospital-grade equipment, including the FDR Xair portable X‑ray system and DRI‑CHEM NX600 blood analyser.

It will enable clinicians to diagnose and treat patients closer to home and reduce unnecessary hospital visits.

Pilot studies by Fujifilm have already demonstrated the power of the vehicle to provide timely care for patients in underserved areas.

The CDV also incorporates AI-powered tools to support faster, more accurate diagnostics and streamline clinical workflows.

Fujifilm plans to work with healthcare partners to expand the CDV across Scotland, supporting community-based care and improving accessibility in underserved areas.
