Latest ultrasound solution most cost-effective system to date

Siemens Healthcare has announced the launch of its latest ultrasound solution, the ACUSON X700.

The technology offers high image quality, advanced technologies and intelligent workflow solutions that were previously available only on high-end, higher-cost systems. It also features workflow technologies that support high throughput and improve cost.

The model comes with SieClear spatial compounding, which enhances anatomic border definition and improves tissue contrast through electronic beam steering, allowing rapid acquisition of overlapping images from different view angles. It also includes Dynamic Tissue Contrast Enhancement (TCE) technology that also improves borders and reduces speckle/noise, facilitating subtle tissue differentiation.

Furthermore, the system features intelligent workflow solutions to enable the high throughput required by the various clinical departments that use the system. For example, the Tissue Greyscale Optimisation (TGO) technology provides instantaneous one-button image optimisation by automatically adjusting the image brightness to the tissue type being imaged.

And Siemens has migrated its patented MicroPinless (MP) transducer connectors from premium platforms to the X700 system. MP connectors offer the highest signal fidelity and improve the signal-to-noise ratio to enhance signal quality. The transducers are compatible with Siemens Healthcare’s ACUSON ‘S’ family, ACUSON ‘X’ family, and ACUSON Sequoia ultrasound systems to increase flexibility and investment value for existing customers. The X700 also features a new, single-solution, 50mm aperture linear array transducer for superficial plus deep imaging and the proprietary Hanafy lens transducer technology provides continuous focusing and image uniformity while delivering excellent contrast and detail resolution.

“The ACUSON X700 is a welcome addition to our comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound portfolio,” said Bernadette Leonard, UK business manager of ultrasound and echocardiology products at Siemens Healthcare in the UK. “The system is a cost-effective option providing powerful functionality and accommodates a broad range of applications for many clinical environments. We are confident that it will prove popular with clinicians in the UK.”

Other features include 3-Scape real-time 3D imaging and Advanced fourSight technology support 3D/4D imaging for fetal, abdominal and gynaecological examinations. The software syngo Auto OB Measurements draws on a large database of ultrasound images to provide instant automated biometric measurements without manual calculations.

There is also a 20-inch LED display, an integrated handle with articulating arm enabling the user to easily position the monitor for comfortable viewing, and two front-accessible USB ports allowing easy, convenient data transfer.
