One of the biggest-ever contracts delivered through the ProCure21+ framework is soon to get underway after Galliford Try was announced as preferred supply chain partner for the redevelopment of Luton and Dunstable University Hospital.
Galliford Try’s Northern Home Counties subsidiary will deliver the £150m project, working from its new base in Luton.
The main programme of work is expected to complete in 2019. It will include an £80m ‘hot block’ unit for all critical care, surgery and other complex procedures. The contractor will also refurbish a number of wards and deliver a new energy centre.
Work on a new £6m office block required to deliver the main programme will start immediately. Galliford Try chief executive, Peter Truscott, said: “This prestigious scheme is one of the largest on the ProCure21+ framework and is a fantastic win for our business.
“Galliford Try has a growing presence in the healthcare market and this is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate our capability in delivering complex public-sector healthcare projects.”
