IHP (Integrated Health Projects), a joint venture between Vinci and Sir Robert McAlpine, was the main contractor on this healthcare construction project.

Phoenix Brickwork was subcontracted to carry out the brickwork and scaffolding works on behalf of IHP.

The newly completed facility is a 54-bed mental health unit dedicated to Adult Acute Care. It includes a 14-bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and replaces outdated dormitory accommodation with all single, en-suite rooms.

Designed to enhance patient care, the facility features green spaces, therapy rooms, and temperature-controlled environments.

Modern resources include therapy suites, activity kitchens, fitness and arts rooms, as well as a sky garden that incorporates carefully selected white brick detailing.

The building’s traditional clay brick façade is distinguished by striking soldier courses and projecting header details, adding both character and quality to the structure.

Located on a specialist mental health site, the facility aims to provide safer, more dignified, and better-supported care for the local community.
