Four years ago, the Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust set out to build a world class non-institutional user facility incorporating the latest guidance and embodying evidence based best practice for therapeutic environments. Last week saw the completion of the final phase of the project and Kingfisher Court was handed over to the Trust.
Everyone who has seen the facility so far has been extremely positive, commenting that it is a trend setter for the way forward in future mental healthcare design.
Shortlisted for the Architects for Health Design Awards for 2014, Project Director Barry Trindall will be talking about the scheme at the IHEEM conference in the Estates and Facilities Management stream on Tuesday morning in a presentation entitled ‘How We are Getting the Best out of our New Estate’.
