Health and social care provider, Shaw healthcare, has appointed a new commercial director.
Mark Heywood-Briggs, 32, from Hampshire, takes up the position from his previous role as regional director for the privately-owned company, which provides care to individuals in nursing and residential homes, hospitals, supported living arrangements, extra care schemes and domiciliary care settings.
Heywood-Briggs, who has previously worked in senior positions for Agincare Group and Care at Home, set up his own health and social care training organisation, The Principle Group, in 2004. He holds an MSc in health promotion and health education (public health) and brings more than 14 years’ experience in the community health and social care industries.
In his new role, he will be responsible for the business development and marketing strategy of the company, as well as developing and managing its existing relationships with the NHS, government, local authorities and regional networks.
He said: “Through working in many different roles in both public and private sector settings, I have a built up real passion for health and social care. I’m delighted to take up this new position at Shaw healthcare and I hope that, by bringing together both my commercial awareness and operational experience of the sector, it will continue to be a market leader in its field.”
Jeremy Nixey, the company’s chief executive, added: “We’re thrilled that someone as dedicated as Mark has been able to step up to the role. His enthusiasm and sheer breadth of experience in the field will be pivotal in helping Shaw healthcare continue to grow, while still providing the same level of high-quality care services across a diverse portfolio and to thousands of people across the UK.”
