Off-site construction specialist, Yorkon, has been accepted onto a framework for the supply of modular buildings to public sector organisations including the NHS.
The four-year framework, awarded by the Government Procurement Service, is for the supply of bespoke modular buildings, helping trusts to avoid costly competitive tendering.
Commenting on the framework, Simon Ambler, director of Yorkon, said: “We are very pleased to have been successful and to be appointed on the framework. This follows a rigorous, independent assessment of our off-site building system and services, as well as assurance of supply, our quality management procedures, regulatory compliance and commitment to innovation, as well as costs.
“The framework gives our customers in the public sector an alternative method of procurement that will substantially reduce procurement time and deliver significant cost savings.”
Recent NHS contracts undertaken by the company include construction of a purpose-built haemodialysis unit in Plymouth and a cardiac catheterisation unit at Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
The system, which uses steel-framed modules, offers significantly reduced on-site construction times, with less disruption and less impact on the environment.
