Salford Software announces subscription-based identity management solution

Fully-managed solution aids compliance with NHS information governance security policies


Identity and access management specialist, Salford Software, has launched justIDM, a subscription-based IDM solution for NHS organisations.

justIDM is available to the NHS as a fully-managed solution complying with NHS information governance security policies, but will also be available as a cloud-based service for other organisations.

JustIDM is a simple, reliable and quick-to-deploy identity management solution, designed for cost-conscious organisations. It will be securely managed and maintained by Salford Software over the N3 network and will provide seamless integration with electronic staff records systems to automate provisioning and deprovisioning of staff records. There is also a facility to allow non-permanent staff to be securely added and deleted from key systems as they come and go.

“justIDM ensures that all the data stays within the organisation to comply with information governance security policies,” said Tom Eggleston, chief technology officer at Salford Software.

“It allows the NHS to take advantage of real cost savings while remaining fully compliant and totally secure.

“It provides all the cost savings of a cloud-based subscription service compared to traditional on-premise IDM deployments. It avoids vendor lock-in, doesn’t require any internal resources to manage the services, and the upkeep and maintenance is taken care of by us.

“This product has been designed and built specifically for our NHS customers, who need the benefits of enterprise identity management, but delivered in a simple and highly cost-effective way. We are removing the barriers that have restricted the widespread adoption of IDM in the NHS, enabling all organisations to have access to the significant security and efficiency benefits, with the, added comfort of knowing that their IDM is being looked after securely and professionally by experts.

“We have also developed a cost model that enables businesses and organisations to recognise a return on their investment in IDM with real savings on total cost of ownership of up to 60% over five years.”

The solution for the NHS is available from July, while the cloud-based solution will be available from November.
