Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is inviting public feedback on the design and naming of a new four-storey facility at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, set to open in 2028

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is calling on the local community to help shape the interior of its major new building at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH), part of the wider Hospitals Transformation Programme (HTP).

The construction of the multi-million pound development is already well underway and will provide a four-storey expansion designed to bring together emergency care teams and the clinical support services they rely on.

Once complete, the new building will ensure doctors and nurses who support emergency care are located on the same site as the remodelled Emergency Department at RSH.

As part of the design process, SaTH has developed a range of interior colour palettes inspired by local landscapes, nature, and community artwork.

These have been informed by patient and public feedback and are intended to create a calm and welcoming environment.

The Trust is now inviting further public input through a voting process to select a preferred palette, as well as suggest naming conventions and themes for areas within the building.

“By voting for a preferred palette and theme, the public will play a direct role in creating a welcoming hospital that reflects the needs and preferences of the people who use it,” said a SaTH spokesperson.

Votes can be cast through the following survey link.

The survey will close on Friday 15 August at midnight. Full terms and conditions can be found here.
