NHS Shared Business Services announces construction consultancy framework appointments
90 firms signed up in effort to provide best value and greater consistency of service provision for NHS organisations
More than 90 construction consultancy firms across England have been appointed to a framework that has been designed to provide best value and greater consistency of service provision for NHS organisations.
The procurement division of NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) has redesigned the existing construction consultancy framework, which was originally only open to architects and quantity surveyors, to cover 11 different disciplines including project management, mechanical and electrical and environmental consultancy.
The new multi-million pound framework is split into 12 regions.
Alison Kerfoot, head of procurement service delivery for NHS SBS, said: “We’ve made the framework far more extensive so that it properly represents the differing requirements that NHS organisations and the public sector require when procuring construction consultancy services. Not only is it a compliant route to market, but the framework has also opened up the sector to more SMEs.”
Among the companies represented, four have won places within each discipline and across all regions. They are Aedas Architects, Gardiner & Theobold, NPS Property Consultants, Rider Levett Bucknall Architectural Services.
