Knightsbridge Furniture, a UK-based furniture manufacturer, has announced a new collaboration with Cranium Medical Products, which is focused on creating 100% recyclable furniture that is optimised for the healing of patients.
The South African-based furniture manufacturer also curates a wide range of products using state-of-the-art techniques and methods for all sectors in the healthcare industry, ensuring that each piece is durable and built to last.
Together with Knightsbridge Furniture, experts in manufacturing furniture for over 80 years, they have created a range of healthcare-focused products including the Elan chair and the Esprit coffee table.

The new range is influenced by current interior design trends that aim to create a safe, relaxing, and mood-boosting environment for patients and residents.
A modern yet sophisticated silhouette with a solid and weighted design, the Elan chair, originally designed by Jason Lansdale, features smooth edges which is essential to providing a safe environment, particularly in mental health facilities.
Rotationally moulded, hygienic, and easy to clean, the Elan chair is not only practical but takes inspiration from modern designs to eliminate the overly clinical feel that can often be seen in these facilities.

The perfect complimentary furniture piece to sit alongside the Elan chair, the Esprit coffee table has a strong, durable stance. Designed for communal spaces, the Esprit coffee table will contribute to allowing patients to heal and connect with others in a more welcoming space.
Alan Townsend, CEO of Knightsbridge Furniture, said: “We’ve worked within the healthcare industry for over 65 years and we have always focused on catering to specialist wards and facilities, providing them with pieces that meet the needs of the end user, without compromising on style and comfort. We push boundaries and implement interior design trends into these spaces. With Cranium Medical Products, we can continue to create brand new products that will lead the way in the healthcare industry.”
Allen Cliffe, the owner of Cranium Medical Products, added: “This collaboration signifies a blend of our shared values in innovation, safety, and aesthetics, all aimed at creating environments that foster healing and tranquillity. With roots that connect us deeply to the UK, this partnership feels like a natural extension of our mission to enhance well-being globally through thoughtfully designed, sustainable furniture.”
