Kier Construction has delivered a new community diagnostic centre (CDC) in Mansfield.

Located alongside Mansfield Community Hospital on Stockwell Gate, the facility has been developed to expand access to diagnostic services across Nottinghamshire as part of the NHS CDC programme.

The new centre will provide up to 100,000 tests each year, including MRI, CT, endoscopy and blood testing services, helping to increase diagnostic capacity and support earlier diagnosis closer to patients’ homes.

Kier Construction delivered the facility forSherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with the centre formally opening in April.

Ahead of the opening, Kier also completed a commemorative garden at the entrance to the building in partnership with Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and West Nottinghamshire College.

The landscape space was created to provide a welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff using the new facility.

The Mansfield CDC is the first CDC to open in Nottinghamshire and forms part of wider NHS investment in community-based diagnostic services outside acute hospital settings.

The facility brings a range of diagnostic pathways together within a dedicated community setting, supporting efforts to reduce waiting times and improve patient access to testing services across the region.
