Published: 5-Dec-2024

Camberley Health Centre has just undergone comprehensive improvements, resulting in increased space, whilst further allowing a greater range of primary care services to be offered to the community

NHS Property Services (NHSPS), a government-owned property specialist, has partnered with Frimley Integrated Care Board, to upgrade and refurbish Camberley Health Centre.

Leading the project, NHSPS was responsible for external enhancements, including improvements to paving, disabled parking bays, CCTV, lighting, and improvements to the front entrance.

The internal upgrades, funded by the ICB, focused on refurbishing half of the ground floor, with a redesign of the layout to make more efficient and effective use of the available space.

This renovation initiative is part of a broader effort to modernise the health centre’s infrastructure and expand its capacity to deliver vital healthcare services to the community.

The refurbishment will enable the current primary care GP practice to increase its services while accommodating greater use of the building.

NHSPS Senior Estates Manager, David Lloyd, said: "We are excited about the prospect of a revitalised Camberley Health Centre that will better serve the needs of that community. The refurbishment by both the ICB and NHSPS will enable us to continue enhancing patient care, whilst also improving building access."

CFO at NHS Frimley, Richard Chapman, said: "Primary care is where the vast majority of patient journeys begin within the health service and it’s crucial that GPs and their teams have the right facilities to be able to provide the best possible service to their patients. We’re committed to supporting GP practices to modernise, improve and expand to be able to support their communities, both now and into the future."
