Consultation on new medical centre for Sutton

Patients and residents asked for their views on £4m development

Plans are being developed to create a state-of-the-art medical centre for patients in Sutton, located on the site currently known as Henderson Hospital, Homeland Drive.

Assura Group is proposing to invest £4m in the relocation of two local GP surgeries, The Grove Road Practice and the Belmont GP Centre. It is also intended that the development will also house a pharmacy.

Members of the local community are invited to give their views on the plans before a planning application is submitted. Two open evenings will be held later this month, at the Belmont GP Centre on the 10th September, and The Grove Road Practice on the 11th September.

Patients and local residents will be given the opportunity to study the plans for the development and provide their opinions as part of the official planning consultation process. Representatives from Assura Group and both GP surgeries will also be on hand to answer any questions.

Simon Gould, development manager at Assura Group, said: “High-quality and modern GP premises are absolutely essential if local patients are to receive the very best standard of care. Because this development will be so important to the residents of Sutton, allowing time to listen to their opinions is essential to the success of the project.”
