Refurbishment works have begun at The Park Hospital in Nottingham as part of a project to replace an existing X-ray system with a new Fujifilm Healthcare UK FDR Visionary Suite.
The works began following the bank holiday weekend with the removal of the existing Wolverson X-ray system from X-ray Room 2.
Mechanical and electrical services within the room have also been stripped out to prepare for the refurbishment.
The room is now scheduled to undergo a full refurbishment over the next nine weeks, before progressing through equipment delivery, mechanical and electrical installation, system configuration, power-on and final physics checks.
The new Fujifilm system will replace the existing X-ray equipment and provide a modernised digital imaging environment for patients and clinical teams.
The project is also expected to support improvements in image quality and imaging workflow.
Circle Health Group, which operates The Park Hospital, is a UK independent healthcare provider running hospitals and clinics across the country and delivering medical, surgical, outpatient and diagnostic services.
The Park Hospital provides a range of diagnostic imaging services alongside its wider medical and surgical provision, including X-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound.
The project is being delivered as an imaging refurbishment within the existing hospital, rather than as a new-build construction scheme.
No principal construction contractor has been publicly identified in the project.
The refurbishment will continue through equipment installation and commissioning before the upgraded X-ray room is brought into use.
