Carestream has installed a new CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution Plus room at the recently-opened Croydon Day Hospital, part of the Ramsay Health Care group.
Established in 1964, Ramsay Health Care has become a global hospital group operating over 220 hospitals and day surgery facilities worldwide.
In the UK, it has a network of more than 30 private hospitals, providing a full range of clinical specialties including orthopaedics and general surgery.
Imaging manager, Margo Williams, said: “We were looking for a flexible general X-ray unit that offered DR workflow for timesaving, gave excellent image quality, and was both user and patient friendly.
“The Carestream Evolution had become a popular choice at other Ramsay Health Care sites where they have moved to DR and, once we saw the unit at another site, it was an easy decision to make.”
The flexible Carestream DRX-Evolution Plus installed at Croydon uses a wireless, cassette-sized DRX Detector and EVP Plus image-processing software to deliver advanced image quality, easily and cost-effectively. Its automated overhead tube is designed for positioning convenience and efficiency; and its dual detector platform is designed to perform many types of exams, including long-length imaging.
“Having the long-length stitching facility means we are able to offer a service we had previously not been able to provide,” said Williams.
“The package is simple to use and very quick and, overall, the image quality is outstanding. The auto position functionality is also of real benefit as it minimises moving and handling requirements for staff.”
