Boost for ultrasound services
Patients requiring ultrasound scans are now benefitting from improved diagnosis at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, thanks to the introduction of two new scanners. The Toshiba Aplio MX ultrasound scanners, costing £61,000 each, provide superior image quality and significantly enhance the service provided, replacing older equipment. They are being used for a wide range of examinations, including abdominal scans, musculoskeletal and gynaecological scans. Radiology services manager, Nigel Allen, said: "The technology is very impressive and increases confidence in diagnosis. We are extremely happy with the performance of these machines and are pleased to be offering such a high standard of ultrasound scanning here in Boston."
