Athera Healthcare, an insight and data-driven health technology provider, has acquired Newgate Technology, a hospital management systems experts.
Athera Healthcare customers include 26 NHS trusts, the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Network, and many of the industry’s Royal Colleges including Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetists, Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and Psychiatrists.
The acquisition comes just weeks after Athera Healthcare unveiled its new brand identity to the market and shared its strategic vision to advance patient care by investing in innovation and acquiring new technologies and the deal was made possible due to additional investment from funds managed by Aliter Capital.

Newgate Technology will now join Athera Healthcare’s existing offering which includes, Athera Insights and traceability and inventory management solution, Athera FingerPrint.

Founded in 1993, Newgate Technology works across the NHS and private healthcare sectors in the UK and Ireland, providing a wide range of digital clinical management tools used extensively across critical departments within acute care.
From digital solutions that help hospital teams schedule operations, allocate the resources and surgical equipment needed, to tracking patients’ peri and post-operative journeys to the technology being used within emergency departments to help with case prioritisation and early identification of delays and bottlenecks.
Newgate Technology’s suite of surgical support also extends to specialist software to help track and trace surgical instruments.
