Assura is bringing a new integrated healthcare centre to Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, as it begins work on the £4.8m development this month.
The new multipurpose medical centre, which is being delivered in partnership with Matrix Medical, will provide a number of important primary services to the local community, including a general practice and a pharmacy. The inclusion of separate services on the same premises continues the company’s commitment to establishing one-size-fits-all healthcare solutions within UK communities, improving access to the essential primary care resources for local patients.
Andrew Darke, managing director of property at Assura Group, said: “The start on site in Ashby-de-la-Zouch marks the start of an exciting year for us as we kick off a number of pipeline projects across the UK.
“Though we tend to see more public discussion of secondary healthcare services, we believe that high-quality, integrated primary care centres function as a vital lifeline for communities. This time next year the completed healthcare centre will provide a host of important services to the surrounding area.”
Ashley Seymour, development director at Matrix Medical, added: “We are delighted to have achieved a start on site and are looking forward to seeing the building take shape after a number of years in the making.
“The new facility provides a long-term solution for primary care services in Ashby and we are pleased that the patients and staff alike can benefit from a first class environment for many years to come.”
The start on site also follows Assura’s £3.5m acquisition of properties in Trellech, Monmouthshire and Wetherby, North Yorkshire.
The development, to be constructed by Wildgoose Construction, is scheduled for completion in January 2016.
