Affordable nurse call maintenance packages launched by Static Systems Group

Systems available from less than £250 per ward as trusts tighten their belts

The continued downturn in the economy and further budget constraints has placed hospital site-based maintenance teams under yet more pressure. One such pressure for estates managers is the continued maintenance of life safety systems such as nursecall.

Explicit in HTM 08-03 is ‘the need for a schedule of maintenance detailed in the hospital’s operational plan that only trained and competent persons should maintain the systems and that all bedhead services should be regularly tested and maintained in line with manufacturers’ recommendations’.

Recognising the critical nature of these requirements, the constraints of budget, and the obligations of estates departments, Static Systems Group (SSG) has reconfigured and simplified its range of maintenance packages.

An annual maintenance agreement for nursecall systems from SSG, covering two wards, can now cost less than £250 per ward, with further savings if multiple systems on larger sites are included. Clients can choose from three levels of service known as Bronze Care, Silver Care and Gold Care.

SSG’s service and maintenance manager, Matt Towers, said: “We are all aware of the financial pressures that exist in the healthcare sector, but there is now no reason to neglect the vital responsibility of ensuring that such critical services are fully protected. We have made sure that our maintenance packages are thorough, compliant, easy to understand and affordable.”
