Trimec\'s V-Lock electronic access control security door meets PAS24 security standard, making it ideal for mental health facilities

Trimec, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, has successfully tested its V-Lock within an electronic access control security door to security standard PAS24.

Working together with Focus Windows, the resilient ES8000 V-Lock was integrated in the doorset, offering a fail-open motor-locking mechanism, ideal for use in secure environments, such as mental health units.

The rigorous testing process, which took place in the ASSA ABLOY UKAS-accredited test lab, provided the benchmarks to show the doorset has the capability to withstand sustained usage within a variety of environments, including education, commercial and retail.

Having undergone timed manual attack, hard and soft body impact tests, and static load testing of 4500N at each locking point, the doorset was successfully tested to PAS24 .

James Davies of Focus Windows, said: “As the new doorset will be installed in social housing and commercial buildings, we needed to ensure the hardware we fitted would be resistant to the latest methods of attack. The V-Lock has proved to be durable and can continue to perform when subjected to sustained attack, making it a reliable and resilient security solution for us.”

Tim Almond, business development manager for ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, added: “The ES8000 electromechanical V-Lock provided the level of security needed for the doorset to be tested to PAS24 , also allowing for misalignment.”
