Tristel has launched Tristel Trio Trace, a three-part decontamination system for non-lumened medical devices with barcode traceability.
Tristel Trio Trace consists of Pre-Clean, Sporicidal and Rinse Wipes and is used for the decontamination of nasendoscopes, TOE probes, transvaginal and transrectal ultrasound probes, manometry catheters and laryngoscope blades.
Building on the success of the existing Tristel Wipes System, Tristel has launched Tristel Trio Trace to enhance the integrity of the decontamination process. The new system uses a barcode scanner and printer to record the operator, the instrument and each of the wipes as used in their correct sequence. It validates that the process has been correctly and successfully completed.
Tristel Trio Trace simplifies and speeds up completion of the Wipes System audit trail and brings the system even closer to an automated process. It is the first manual decontamination process to link to electronic patient records.
Paul Swinney, Tristel chief executive, said, “Tristel Trio Trace extends our infection prevention range as our existing Tristel Wipes System will of course still be available. Tristel Trio Trace advances the best principles of Tristel products by increasing ease of use and compliance in a simple and cost-effective decontamination method.”
Tristel’s products are based on the company’s unique chlorine dioxide chemistry and are rapidly effective against all micro-organisms, including spores. The range focuses on instruments in departments that include ENT, cardiology, OBGY, IVF and urology.
