Care company, SureCare, has appointed a new managing director to coincide with the launch of a range of new services.
The Chester-based business operates 24 franchises and four branches across the UK which, since 1994, have concentrated on providing domiciliary care services.
But, following the arrival of managing director, Gary Farrer, the company is expanding into childcare, respite care and providing home services to carry out a full range of household tasks.
Farrer previously owned the Lancashire-based integrated care provider, Safehands Group, which, together with his wife Stephanie, he built into a £5.5m-turnover business before selling at the end of 2011.
Farrer was approached by the charity Housing 21, which owns SureCare, to take up the reins and set about dramatically increasing the number of franchises in the UK.
The plan is to more than double the number of franchises to 50 within two years and to have a presence in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The company has also undergone a rebrand and launched new-look websites.
Farrer said: “SureCare has traditionally been a provider of domiciliary care services, but the care business is undergoing enormous changes and there is a need for companies such as ours to provide a much broader range of services to our customers.
“We have now created a franchise business which is able to offer a community of care services for life’s journey. This means our franchisees can provide services for the very young through to those in later life.
“We are the only company of our scale offering this breadth of service in the UK. I am excited about working with our current franchisees and new ones to share my business knowledge and industry experience.
“I want to work with business people with a can-do attitude who want to build the reputation of SureCare as a company at the heart of the community.
“Whether it is providing personal or live-in care, collecting the laundry from the dry cleaner, buying the paper, baby-sitting, running a mobile crèche or accompanying an elderly or disabled person on holiday, SureCare is able to help.”
