Sodexo Health & Care has been named as one of just 15 strategic suppliers to the NHS, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), and wider health organisations.
The partnership is under the newly established National Strategic Supplier Relationship Management (SSRM) programme.
Sodexo is a France-based global services company specialising in facilities management, catering, and support services across healthcare, education, corporate, and public sectors.
In the UK and Ireland, Sodexo delivers a range of essential services that support the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centred healthcare.
The SSRM initiative, a joint collaboration between the DHSC, NHS England, and the Cabinet Office, marks a significant evolution in how the health system engages with its most critical suppliers.

Moving beyond traditional procurement practices, the programme aims to foster structured, collaborative partnerships that prioritise relationship-building, long-term value generation, and innovation in healthcare delivery.
Following a comprehensive selection process undertaken by health organisations, Sodexo has been invited to join this long-term, high-impact programme.
The appointment recognises Sodexo’s vital contribution to supporting health services across the UK and underscores its strategic importance to the sector.
Philip Leigh, CEO of Sodexo Health & Care UK & Ireland, said: "Being selected as a strategic supplier is a proud milestone for Sodexo. We look forward to contributing to the SSRM programme and are keen to see the programme accelerate the innovation and scale that partner organisations like Sodexo can bring to providers, driving efficiency, compliance, and improved outcomes.”

This appointment further strengthens Sodexo’s established position as a key supplier to government.
The company will continue its engagement through its Cabinet Office Crown Representative, working alongside the SSRM programme to support national healthcare priorities.
Karin Smyth MP, Minister of State for Health (Secondary Care), said: “Our healthcare system can’t function without its suppliers. They play a critical role in driving innovation, ensuring better value for taxpayers, and putting more money in people’s pockets through long-term growth.”
