Henry Brothers has completed the £15.2m Babington Health Centre in Belper, Derbyshire, handing over the new facility to Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust.
The community health centre has been constructed on the site of the former Belper Clinic, within the Babington Hospital site on Derby Road.
The building was designed by architects Race Cottam Associates, with Capita acting as project manager, Eastwood Consulting Engineers providing civil and structural engineering services, and EP Consulting responsible for mechanical and electrical engineering.
The new health centre brings together outpatient and clinical services previously delivered from the neighbouring hospital.
The new facility includes 15 consulting rooms, six treatment rooms and a health education and group room, alongside supporting facilities.
Services being provided from the centre include community nursing, phlebotomy, midwifery clinics, podiatry, physiotherapy, continence advisory services, wound care, and speech and language therapy.
Construction began in August 2024, following Henry Brothers' appointment to deliver the scheme through the Pagabo Major Construction Works Framework.
The project follows planning approval granted by Amber Valley Borough Council in September 2023.
The planned construction programme was 66 weeks.

How sustainability is baked into the build
The health centre has been constructed to BREEAM standards and incorporates a number of measures aimed at reducing its environmental impact.
Photovoltaic (PV) panels have been installed across the roof to generate renewable energy, while locally sourced and recycled materials from demolished buildings were used where possible.
Certified timber was also specified for the project.
The new building opened to patients on 17 August, following the transfer of services from Babington Hospital.
The hospital building, which dates back to its former use as a workhouse, is now being decommissioned as services move into the new facility.
