Forbo Flooring Systems offers a brighter choice when it comes to safety flooring with its newly-launched STEP collection.
Pioneering technical developments have resulted in a range of products that signify the very best of performance coupled with a fresh design direction – all fully guaranteed.
A step away from the more-traditional ‘safety flooring’ colours and designs, demonstrating that there does not need to be any compromise when it comes to combining the two key elements of safety and design.
With an increased use of safety floors, in the private sector the demand for warmer and more welcoming finishes is growing. Forbo’s advances in technology see revolutionary STEP safety crystals embedded throughout the wearlayer, providing a fully slip-resistant solution. The entire collection meets with the prevalent UK slip standards; wet Pendulum test >36 and >20 surface roughness, as well as EN1385 for sustainable slip resistance.
Garry Bateman, head of technical sales and support at Forbo Flooring Systems, said: “The current trend is demanding a less-industrialised look and so the concept for STEP has evolved to include softer and more natural-inspired designs to help create warmer environments. Meanwhile the incorporation of the innovative STEP crystals refreshes the collection and ensures the designs look much brighter and fresher, yet still offering outstanding slip resistance properties suitable for the intended area.”
A moving accumulation of taupes, gentle hues and calming patterns reflect the softer, more-contemporary touch within the SureStep range; original, wood, stone, mineral, texture and star.
SafeStep offers design ranges that meet both R11 and R12 performance for areas with increased slip risk due to continuous contamination from substances such as oils and fats, without having to compromise on design aesthetics.
Of particular note is the Safestep Aqua, designed for continuous wet barefoot areas, such as showers and Surestep Laguna developed specifically for barefoot and soft shoe-wear use as in assisted bathrooms.
Contemporary pastel tones are included in the Laguna range, but with a very fine sand surface structure that provides an extremely comfortable finish to walk on. The range is ideal for the healthcare and public sector that demands a warmer, less clinical and stark environment.
