Polyflor LVT and vinyl flooring solutions were used in the development of a new care home in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire.
Pendle Brook Care Home based is a purpose-built facility developed to create a safe-yet-stimulating environment for residents and their families.
Designed by Claire Pilkington of CW Design Group; the internal spaces provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, at the same time as meeting stringent hygiene and safety requirements.
Polyflor’s Expona Commercial LVT range was selected for areas such as the café, dining room, and onsite hairdressing salon, which will see heavy footfall and potential spillages.
With 80 shades to choose from, the range offered flexibility, the with Tanned Cheveron Parquet design paired with Porta Stone to create clearly-defined zones.
A completely-different aesthetic was achieved on the first and second floors to support those living with dementia.
Home to the residents’ rooms, there was a key requirement for both high durability and slip resistance.
As a safety floor designed to be both functional and beautiful; the slip-resistant benefits of Polysafe Wood FX made it the obvious choice.
And the diverse palette offered tonal options, with Oiled Oak selected to enhance the calming and neutral atmosphere achieved across the space.
These neutral tones continue into the bathrooms, where the flooring made a shift to Polysafe Quattro PUR.
Designed for barefoot or shod use in continually-wet areas, this product is engineered to achieve a pendulum test result of 50+, offering sustainable slip resistance as well as superior underfoot comfort, making it ideal for a residential care setting.
