Nuffield Health has announced details of its plan to open a five-star, state-of-the-art diagnostic suite at Citylabs in Manchester in November.
The 7,279sq ft diagnostic suite will deliver world-class MRI, X-ray, mammography, CT and cardiac and ultrasound services. In addition to the scanning facilities, Nuffield Health will also deliver health assessments, physiotherapy services and private GP appointments at the suite.
The model has been developed by Nuffield Health following consultation with Central Manchester Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to identify which additional diagnostic facilities would best support the Manchester community, improve health outcomes, and cut waiting times.
Commenting on the announcement, Barbara Baker, Manchester market director for Nuffield Health, said: “The diagnostic suite is a key part of our plan to deliver a complete model of health and wellbeing for Manchester. Our wider vision is ambitious in how we hope to support the local healthcare community to improve the health outcomes for the people of Manchester. In the shorter term it is our intention that this facility will quickly relieve some of the pressure the trust is under to deliver imaging services and means that people can be seen more quickly.”
The diagnostic suite complements Nuffield’s existing consumer and corporate fitness and wellbeing centres and provides a bridge between these and its proposal to deliver a state-of-the-art tertiary hospital and wellbeing facility in Hathersage Road.
The facility is being designed by Pozzoni Architecture and work will start this month, with completion due for mid-November.
