NHS trusts meet CRC data deadline

Published: 30-Aug-2011

THE NHS Sustainable Development Unit (SDU) has revealed that all NHS organisations in England that were required to submit Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) data have succeeded in meeting the deadline, avoiding potential fines. The Environment Agency (EA) has praised trusts for their hard work on the annual and footprinting reports, despite some difficulties with sickness and with unexpected issues related to the EA computer system. An SDU spokesman said: "The CRC is an important way for organisations to help reduce greenhouse gases and meet legally-binding government climate change targets."
