NHS Supply Chain announces new equipment types in expanded framework
New additions to renewed framework make accessing innovative equipment easier than ever
NHS Supply Chain continues to adapt to meet NHS trusts’ needs by launching an updated Architectural Surgical Medical Systems Framework (ASMS).
This consists of various lots including operating tables, stretchers, trolleys and medical lasers. New elements in the framework such as diagnostic imaging tables, ultra-clean ventilation canopies, and examination lights enlarge customer choice. It also boasts a wide range of industry-leading suppliers available across all lots allowing a wide range of needs to be met through a comprehensive solution.
This framework also dispenses with the need for trusts to undertake their own tendering exercises and administrative tasks linked with equipment updates, speeding up the process of delivering information to trusts. With this range of benefits, utilising the renewed framework represents one of the easiest ways to purchase equipment for the NHS.
Another key development is the ability to bring together in one place all additional supporting documentation needed to complete a professional procurement. These range from the pre-purchase questionnaire (PPQ) right through to the required infection control information. NHS trusts can benefit from exclusive access to the Department of Health’s Capital Equipment Fund in order to secure additional savings when using this framework.
Jason Lavery, trading director for NHS Supply Chain Capital Solutions, said of the new framework: “We are excited to be offering one of the most-wide-ranging and easy-to-use frameworks with pro-active account management to support customers.
“By offering equipment such as MRI-conditional trolleys and diagnostic imaging tables, and increasing the breadth of products and options available, all trusts can benefit from easier than ever access to up-to-date equipment.
“With no-one else offering such an extensive range, NHS Supply Chain is ideally placed to assist trusts in the cost effective, timely and appropriate replacement of capital medical equipment.
“By utilising NHS Supply Chain, our customers can benefit from our experience, scale and passion, allowing them to concentrate on patient care whilst saving time and money.”
The framework is now live, allowing trusts to start making savings immediately.
