A new framework agreement from NHS Shared Business Services aims to make the use of teleradiology in NHS organisations more effective and efficient.
The Teleradiology Reporting Services framework agreement, believed to be the only one of its kind in the UK, supports the early diagnosis of patients through the swift turnaround of medical imaging scans.
Suppliers on the framework agreement can provide emergency, routine, specialist and backlog CT, MRI and plain film reporting in a wide variety of specialisms, including nuclear medicine, ultrasound, oncology and musculoskeletal services, among others.
Services can be provided either on an insourced, on-site basis, or as an offsite managed service solution.
Phil Davies, director of procurement at NHS Shared Business Services, said: “The continued growth of medical imaging for diagnostic purposes shows no sign of slowing. That’s why we’ve set up this dedicated framework agreement – to make teleradiology services more accessible, efficient and cost-effective than ever before.
“As with all our framework agreements, users are able to make a direct award; or they can run a mini competition from the framework agreement in order to ensure the service meets their exact requirements. Our contracts are fully OJEU compliant, and free to access.”
The 13 suppliers on the Teleradiology Reporting Services framework agreement are:
- 4ways Healthcare
- Alliance Medical
- Diagnostic Healthcare
- DMC Imaging
- InHealth
- MEDICA Reporting
- Mediscan Diagnostic Services
- Medicare Insourcing Services
- Radiology Reporting Online LLP, trading as Everlight Radiology
- Remedy Healthcare Solutions
- Telemedicine Clinic
- TXM Consult

The framework agreement runs until 31 January 2022, with the option to extend for a further 12 months.
