Last week's ceremony was a combined awards show for both the 2020 and 2021 competitions

Around 600 people attended the combined 2020/2021 Building Better Healthcare Awards ceremony in central London last week.

Hosted by NHS doctor and comedian, Dr Phil Hammond, the ceremony saw more than 60 trophies handed out in six categories – building design, patient experience, estates and facilities management, technology, COVID-19, and three special awards, including the Grand Prix Design Award.

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board was among the winners, picking up three awards for its OpenEyes glaucoma eye care services transformation

Building Design Partnership (BDP) picked up seven awards, including several for its work on the design of six NHS Nightingale hospitals

Chelsea and Westminster NHS Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was another multiple award winner
