Pop Design & Projects has completed an MRI safety signage upgrade at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, covering two MRI suites, a technical room, a control room and the main access door.
The company provides specialist design and signage solutions for healthcare environments, working with NHS trusts and clinical teams on projects including MRI safety signage upgrades and imaging-suite wayfinding.
The project aimed to standardise safety signage across the areas, providing consistent visual guidance for staff working in and around the MRI facilities.
Working with the physics team at Barts Health NHS Trust, the project team agreed the floor layout and identified the positioning of anaesthetic machines in the examination room as a key risk to manage.
The upgrade included the placement of 3mT stickers to identify the relevant magnetic field boundary.
The signage uses templates agreed by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM).
The company also works with healthcare customers to tailor signage to individual requirements, including bespoke sizes and specific designs where needed.
The work included replacing existing signage on the technical room doors, with before-and-after images showing the changes.
Envirotect attended site to install new safety pull strips across the doors and assisted with applying the signage.
Pop Design & Projects is due to showcase its offerings at the MRI Safety Matters Innovations Day on 31 October.
