Milford Hospital will benefit from a new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), which is anticipated to open in 2026.
This CDC is part of a broader government initiative to expand local healthcare services.
P+HS Architects designed the CDC. The project was also in collaboration with MTX Contracts, a modern methods of construction specialist, and Ideal Building Systems, a UK-based modular building specialist.
MDA Wirral, a UK-based construction company, and DSSR, a UK-based sustainable engineering consultant, were also involved in the project.

The mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) second fix is now nearing completion after the building structure of the CDC was completed. The flooring is also finished, allowing furniture installation to progress smoothly.
Hard landscaping is nearly finalised, with only the access road and highway works left to complete.
The project is now nearing the commissioning phase of MRI, and CT scanners.
This CDC will soon serve as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, enabling an additional 11,000 MRIs and 9,500 CT scans each year—streamlining diagnostics by consolidating tests into a single appointment for patients.

Located near the existing rehabilitation building at Milford Hospital, this development aims to enhance diagnostic capabilities and reduce NHS waiting times by offering services closer to patients' homes.
This initiative is part of the UK government’s £2.3 billion investment to create over 160 such diagnostic centres across England by 2025.
