A MEDICAL Device Alert has been issued amid fears that Luer lock hypodermic syringes from Codan may have faulty barrels. The 2ml syringes with the product code 622637, NHS Supply Chain reference FWCO53, and batch number F85319-1 were the subject of a manufacturer's Field Safety Notice in June, but Codan fears there may still be a number in use. Issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), the latest warning states that organisation should 'not use the affected syringes and ensure that relevant members of staff are aware of the problem'.
