Power Control, a brand of Legrand UK & Ireland, has launched its new uninterruptible power supply system, TriMOD UPS, at Healthcare Estates

Power Control, a brand of Legrand UK & Ireland, has launched its new uninterruptible power supply system, TriMOD UPS.

Launched with a champagne celebration at the Healthcare Estates in Manchester, the new TriMOD UPS is the latest generation in the company’s family of three-phase modular UPS systems.

Matt de Frece, Head of Sales at Power Control, explained to Building Better Healthcare at the launch that this product has been around in various forms for about 15 years, but this specific edition has been optimised with the unique demands of the healthcare environment in mind.

“It just had to meet an extra spec,” he said.

In line with this, the new product has been updated to deliver better energy efficiency, flexibility and reliability for the critical applications it would need to supply.

Legrand’s channel manager said: “Its modular design not only enhances flexibility and scalability but also improves overall system efficiency, reducing energy consumption and operational costs.”

They explained that by combining advanced engineering with user-centric features such as predictive diagnostics and multi-level redundancy, they are providing customers with a UPS solution that truly meets the evolving needs of modern critical infrastructure.

At the heart of the TriMOD is a fully modular, three-phase configuration based on independent single-phase modules.

This design allows for hot-swappable lightweight components (only 8.4kg each), making every aspect of a site installation and maintenance both faster anad safer.

With a unique multi in/out configuration options (3/3, 1/1, 3/1, 1/3), users can now tailor each system to their specific load requirements, optimising for both performance and critical power redundancy.

The TriMOD achieves 99% efficiency when in eco mode, ensuring minimal energy loss and reduced operational cost, making it one of the most energy-efficient UPS systems in its class.

Legrand's multi-control board system provides advanced diagnostics and ensures redundancy at the control level, eliminating single points of failure. In the event of a module or control failure, power is automatically redistributed among active modules, ensuring continuous operation. Redundancy is available both horizontally and across each single phase load, delivering uninterrupted power for all critical systems.

An intuitive 5-inch colour touch display provides real-time monitoring, event logging, and advanced diagnostic capabilities. The user-friendly interface integrates predictive maintenance technology, identifying potential faults before they occur, thereby enhancing operational continuity and reducing downtime.
