The healthcare industry is ever-evolving, and for the professionals in this sector, creating a welcoming and functional environment is essential to providing high-quality care. The way healthcare buildings, interior design and surrounding landscapes affect the wellbeing of patients, staff and visitors is vital. That's why the Patient Environment class at the Building Better Healthcare Awards is significant, and aims to recognise the positive impact of these elements and award those deserving of recognition.
Five awards in the Patient Environment class
This year, the event features five awards across interior design, arts and external spaces across all health and social care settings.
- Best Collaborative Arts Project (Static)
- Best Collaborative Arts Project (Performance)
- Best Interior Design - New Build Project
- Best Interior Design - Refurbishment Project
- Best External Environment Project
The first two categories recognise collaborative arts projects, both static and performance-based, that have a positive impact on patients and staff. The next two categories acknowledge outstanding interior spaces that enhance the overall experience of patients, staff, residents and visitors in healthcare settings, whether they are new builds or refurbishments. Finally, the judging panel will highlight the importance of nature and access to outdoor spaces with the Best External Environment Project class.
