Hearst Health to provide MCG care guidelines and clinical utilisation review solution to NHS trusts
Company joins framework for adoption of CUR technology for specialised and critical care services
Hearst Health has been successfully selected as a supplier on the NHS England CUR framework agreement.
The framework offers trusts access to a list of solutions partners that, along with CQUIN funds introduced by NHS England, will help hospitals in adopting CUR technology for specialised and critical care services over the next two years.
Adoption of MCG Care Guidelines and interactive CUR solutions enable NHS trusts to utilise Commissioning for Quality and Innovation scheme (CQUIN) funding to develop and implement clinical utilisation programmes which improve patient flow and standardise the quality of care by ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time while also being treated in the most-appropriate clinical setting.
MCG delivers the industry’s-leading evidence-based care guidelines and point of care software used by more than 2,200 clients across the world, including 1,300 hospitals, eight of the 10 largest US health plans, and two of the largest insurers in the Republic of Ireland. Engagement with independent peer review panels, comprising more than 100 additional clinical experts, has enabled Hearst Health to produce the industry’s-leading utilisation review and case management solution for more than two decades.
“Hearst Health is delighted to partner with NHS trusts as they seek to optimise use of their clinical services” said Jeff Dienhart, international managing director of Hearst Health.
“With over 30 years’ experience of bringing evidence-based clinical knowledge solutions to the NHS, we are delighted to provide a solution to support NHS trusts in delivering meaningful operational improvements in patient flow and length-of-stay management.”
MCG Care Guidelines and solutions provide instant web-based access to evidence-based content that support clinical decision-making, and tools to help document admission and continued stay utilisation review. MCG Care Guidelines define clinical criteria specific to conditions and procedures, as well as to support level of care determination. The MCG solution can therefore be used to inform admission, transfer and discharge decisions, and improve care co-ordination and outcomes for patients.
