Healthcare Computing wins contract to support NHS Dorset CCGs
Healthcare Computing (HC) has won a tender to provide a GP IT support and development service for NHS Dorset clinical commissioning group (CCG) practices for the next three to five years.
After a lengthy tender process, HC was chosen by NHS Dorset CCG to continue with its GP IT support after years of successful provision in the East of Dorset.
The company works with commissioning support units, CCGs, and practices to provide IT infrastructure support solutions to over 600 organisations, helping customers to reduce costs, improve security of their data, and work more efficiently.
After the contract was signed in December, HC worked with the team at NHS Dorset CCG to plan and prepare for the start of the new improved IT support service on 2 February.
Alan Betts, deputy director of performance and informatics at NHS Dorset CCG, said: “When we went through the process of selecting a provider for these services we wanted someone with a proven track record in supporting primary care IT, with whom we could establish a real partnership to support practices across the county. We are confident that Healthcare Computing is able to provide this and look forward to working closely with the company over the coming years.”
Neil Payne, managing director of Healthcare Computing, added: “This is a fantastic result. NHS Dorset CCG has fed back that our tender response was very strong, demonstrating our reputation for delivering the best value service for the budget available for GP IT.
