The Guardtech Group are all set to record another record-breaking year of growth in 2025, with a whopping 40 cleanroom construction projects either completed or started in the past 12 months.
Among the highlights were several ground-breaking Cleancube Mobile Cleanrooms container facilities, including Oxitec’s 300 sqm CNC Multi 11 for life-saving mosquito GMO work in Djibouti, Gloucester NHS Trust’s 180 sqm aseptic pharmacy Grade C Maxi 7, and a first-ever Mini+ model – a Grade D cleanroom for a Biopharma application in Wales.
Work is also well under way on a 480 sqm CNC Cleancube Multi 16 for healthcare R&D in Berkshire, another 300 sqm Cleancube Maxi 10 aseptic pharmacy in Surrey, a 240 sqm Grade C Multi 8 radiopharmacy that includes a unique 60 sqm Isoblok in Burton-on-Trent, and a 90 sqm CNC Maxi 3 for a pharma application in Germany.
“Cleancube really moved into a new stratosphere over the past year,” said Commercial Director Mark Wheeler.
“What began as a relatively modest single 40 ft container solution for the Oil & Gas industry five years ago has now blossomed into a series of large-scale, life-saving facilities for hugely rewarding ventures like chemotherapy drug compounding and genetic modification of mosquitoes to combat malaria.
“It’s a paradigm-shifting, prefabricated cleanroom solution and it has completely changed the way controlled environment users think about construction principles and how to move forward with their projects.”
Of the more traditional large-scale facility installations that the Group undertook through their Cleanroom Solutions and Guardtech Cleanrooms brands, there were several more notable GMP projects in the past 12 months – including the completion of a 775 sqm Grade C cleanroom disinfectants manufacturing facility in Northumberland and a 375 sqm Grade C pharmaceutical cleanroom in Leicester, whilst work also commenced on a 740 sqm AS Lab CNC and a 200 sqm Grade C pharmaceutical cleanroom in Deeside, and a 300 sqm Grade C pharma testing facility in Cambridgeshire.
Isopod Rapid Cleanrooms also enjoyed another buoyant year of growth in 2025, with a string of larger-scale, bespoke pod systems changing the modular cleanroom landscape – including a 48 sqm ISO 8 Isopod for biotechnology in Hertfordshire, a 19 sqm ISO 8 Isopod Hybrid in Northumbria and a 60 sqm ISO 7 microelectronics Isopod in Berkshire.
All of this was further reinforced by another 12 months of success across Europe, with an 850 sqm ISO 5 and 7 facility for global microelectronics innovators in Weilburg, Germany, the standout project amongst a healthy list of builds that included Isopods in Sweden, Norway and Poland thanks to Guardtech Nordic AB – the Group’s Nordics & Baltics arm based in Sweden.
What’s more, the Group even found some time to develop a first-ever battery tech dry room in conjunction with new partners Dry Air Limited for an application in Bristol.
“It’s been fantastic to see all the different routes to market that we now have coming to fruition over the past year,” added Wheeler. “From Guardtech Nordic AB to Isopod to our maiden dry room with Dry Air Limited, we no longer have to rely on those traditional, classic stick builds to sustain us – and we can now provide a wider range of world-class solutions to more territories than ever before.”
