NHS innovation hub provides support to help companies accelerate their route to market

Companies developing new healthcare products can now access services to accelerate their route to market following the appointment of healthcare commercialisation expert, Medipex, to a regional framework aimed at supporting Yorkshire manufacturers.

The framework is part of the ERDF-funded Advanced Manufacturing Support programme which is being run by the National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC), part of the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) based at the Advanced Manufacturing Park. The programme enables companies across the Yorkshire and Humber region to access funded services from companies on the framework to support their business activities.

Chris Herbert, business development manager at Medipex, said: “Since the demise of Yorkshire Forward, this highly-valuable support for companies has been sorely lacking and we’re looking forward to working with NAMTEC and a range of companies from across the region to help bring innovative products into the NHS for the benefit of the patient, the company and the regional economy.”

NAMTEC project manager, Helen Arthur, added: “Through access to specialist consultants like Medipex, who have direct experience, we can work together to build and strengthen regional capability.”
