DSSR, a sustainable engineering consultant, has collaborated closely with Vinci, Floyd Slaski Architects, and medical staff to determine precise requirements for the refurbishment of the Therapies Project at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The Therapies Project at Queen Elizabeth Hospital involved the relocation of the Therapies department to an old building within the hospital premises.
DSSR faced significant challenges when designing mechanical and electrical systems tailored to meet these requirements given the constraints of the existing building structure.
Despite these challenges, DSSR successfully navigated through the complexities, ensuring compliance with building regulations, HTMs, and HBNs.
The Project encompassed two main areas: a consultation area and a therapy exercise space
Adapting the MEP services to accommodate the unique structure of the building required innovative solutions and thorough planning.
The project encompassed two main areas: a consultation area and a therapy exercise space.
By addressing these challenges, DSSR were able to deliver a comprehensive refurbishment that met the functional needs of the Therapies department while enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the facility.
