Canon Europe will be showcasing its latest healthcare IT and digital radiography (DR) solutions at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna from 7-10 March.
Peter Blonk, head of the company’s medical imaging group, said: “At Canon, we believe that innovative imaging technology can be maximised to empower healthcare professionals to make decisions with greater speed and accuracy. We understand that when data related to patients is shared efficiently across the healthcare enterprise, it ultimately helps to improve diagnosis and care for patients. We look forward to showcasing our latest end-to-end innovations at ECR.”
Canon’s Healthcare IT suite, which incorporates solutions from DelftDI, a Canon Group company specialising in medical solutions, has been designed specifically to improve efficiency in hospitals by enabling the sharing of health records, reducing time and costs and ultimately improving care for patients.
Healthcare IT solutions on the Canon stand at ECR include:
- Innovative Cross Enterprise Document Sharing solutions (XDS) to improve clerical and clinical workflows, enabling patient records to be shared through and between organisations as quickly as possible
- Medical software solutions for storing digital images and medical records, such as Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
- Image Quality System (IQS) for analysis and classification of rejected images by radiographers, to improve patient care and enable the departments to be compliant with Euratom directives around radiation usage
On display at ECR, for the first time in Europe, will be the Canon CXDI-401C Wireless DR Flat Panel Detector. Featuring a larger imaging area facilitating the image capture of various body parts and patient physiques, the new device is the first Canon DR system to offer the convenience of wireless operation in a full-size format. It further expands the product range that includes the CXDI-701C and CXDI-801C Wireless series for easy upgrading to DR.
Canon’s wireless DR products enhance the overall experience for patients by enabling medical professionals to complete consultations quickly with a short preview time on all devices in the range. The devices are also equipped with Canon’s CXDI Control Software NE, which decreases the number of steps needed to capture an X-ray image.
Canon will also be exhibiting the DelftDI range of DR modalities, designed to allow radiographers to create bespoke solutions that can be adapted to examine all patients, while delivering high quality imaging under all circumstances.
