New site from Portakabin shows what is possible with modular construction methods

A new website has been launched aimed at changing perceptions about the use of modular buildings.

Portakabin hopes the portal will demonstrate what is now possible with a more flexible approach to accommodation for temporary and permanent buildings.

Features include an image library with more than 2,000 pictures illustrating various possibilities for modular construction, a 32-page photo gallery of Portakabin projects across the UK and Europe, and customer feedback.

Robert Snook, director and general manager of Portakabin Hire, said: “Our research has shown that many organisations are just not aware of how far modular buildings have come in recent years and of the scale, design flexibility and quality of working environments that are now available – for interim as well as permanent use.

“Our aim with the new site is to showcase the best applications from across the UK and Europe to provide visitors with really useful information to help the procurement process, add value to our building services and change perceptions.”

Modular buildings can be supplied in just four days and come complete with fire and security systems, access ramps and furnishings and they can be easily extended, reconfigured or relocated as needs change.
